Basements

Basements simply put are structures built below ground level with the soil and earth around it, there is a constant water pressure on the walls and floors of the basement due to the presence of underground water. A proper waterproofing system to withstand this ‘hydrostatic’ pressure is essential.  A basement known as sub-structure’s resistance is improved with sound concrete walls and floors with a waterproofing system that ‘tanks’ the basement forming a water-resistant structure.

Selection of an appropriate waterproofing system with a good structural design would allow for a long service life at the same avoiding costly repairs on the long run.

Ground Slabs/ Floor Slabs

These structures are usually in contact with earth. This equates to the structure being in constant contact with moisture.

At the construction stage it is key to ensure proper treatment is done to this slab to prevent ‘uprising dampness’, formation of puddles of water on the slab, discoloration of marble, granite, de-lamination of pargue/ wooden floors as a result of constant dampness.
